On Day One
Lower the Cost of Living
In District 7, working families are struggling every single month with skyrocketing rent, expensive groceries, high gas prices, and rising car insurance costs. No family should have to choose between paying rent and keeping food on the table, or between filling up the tank and paying other bills.
Here’s exactly what’s happening right now in Sacramento:
A college graduate working full-time at $20 an hour takes home about $2,400 after taxes. But the bills add up fast — rent for a decent 1-bedroom apartment is at least $1,650, gas is $250, car insurance is $150, utilities are $200, and health insurance is another $120.
By the end of the month, many people are left $1,200 in the negative — with zero savings for emergencies, vacations, getting married, or even going on a date.
Working people are no longer living. They are just surviving.
This is happening because of corporate greed. Big companies keep raising prices on rent, groceries, gas, insurance, and everything else while they make huge profits at your expense.
It’s time to end corporate greed and hold these corporations accountable.
Everyone deserves the security of knowing they can afford a safe home and build a better future. I will fight to lower the cost of living — especially rent, groceries, gas, and car insurance — so hard-working Sacramento families in District 7 can finally thrive instead of barely surviving
Universal Healthcare
Healthcare is not a privilege. It’s a right. Every American deserves access to quality healthcare, regardless of their income, marital status, or zip code. No family should have to choose between paying rent or paying for life-saving treatment.
There is plenty of fraud, waste, and abuse happening in government spending. I will cut it and redirect those dollars toward building new medical schools. I will also provide tax incentives to medical schools that achieve higher graduation rates. The more doctors we have, the closer we get to universal healthcare.
End Police Abuse
Families in District 7 deserve to feel safe in their neighborhoods and be treated with respect by the officers we pay with our tax dollars. Yet despite heavy police presence — officers, sheriff’s deputies, and highway patrol cruising our streets — our communities are not safer, and too many residents experience abuse and mistreatment.
No citizen should fear for their life during a simple traffic stop. Every officer must have proper training and real accountability.
I will fight for comprehensive police reform that ends abuse of power once and for all. I will introduce a bill requiring compassionate and empathetic training, strong oversight, and swift consequences for misconduct. If law enforcement agencies refuse to comply, I will work to cut their federal funding — because your tax dollars must support public safety, not power trips.
End Government Corruption & Waste
Your tax dollars are constantly being wasted, misused, and stolen through fraud and abuse in our government — especially inside the military-industrial complex.
I will fight to root out every dollar of waste and abuse. Those savings will be redirected to build new mental healthcare facilities so every American can actually access quality mental health care when they need it. We will also provide strong incentives for teachers from preschool through high school to attract and keep the best educators in our classrooms.
Fair Taxation
I am not going to Congress to punish rich people or take their hard-earned money just to give it to others — especially people who don’t want to work. Many wealthy Americans worked hard for what they have, and you cannot be mad at them for that.
But here is what I will do: I will fight to make sure everyone pays their fair share of taxes — including the big banks and large corporations. No more special loopholes for the powerful while working families pay more than their share.
I will also fight to make sure the laws passed by Congress do not favor the rich and powerful. Their unfair influence on which bills become law must end completely — no more special interests buying or controlling our government.
Your tax dollars should not be wasted or stolen. I will hold everyone accountable so the system is truly fair.
When we fix taxation this way and remove this unfair influence, hard-working families in District 7 will finally have a much better and sweeter life.
End Violence Against Women
Too many women in District 7 suffer physical and emotional abuse in silence. In some communities, they are shamed or threatened if they try to leave their abuser. This abuse is so severe that many women become deeply depressed, and some even consider ending their lives — but they stay strong for their children.
I will fight to protect these women. I will hold law enforcement accountable to thoroughly investigate every case of abuse. I will also hold courts and judges accountable so that those found guilty receive real justice.
No woman in District 7 should ever have to live in fear or feel trapped in an abusive relationship.
Support Our Teachers
Empowering our teachers means empowering our future. They deserve better pay, support, and respect — because every child deserves the best education possible.
Teachers shape the future of our children and our country, yet they are often underpaid and struggling to get by. In District 7, many dedicated teachers work hard every day but still face serious financial stress. In the America I believe we can have, no teacher should have to drive Uber or deliver DoorDash as a second or third job just to make ends meet.
I will fight to raise teachers’ salaries. I will also make sure teachers who have served 10 years — or who commit to serving 10 years — receive full loan forgiveness.
I will require insurance companies, phone companies, and fitness centers to give teachers the same discounts we give our military. If you are educating our children, you deserve an easier life so you can focus on teaching the best generation possible.
Safe Schools
Focus
Every parent deserves peace of mind knowing their child is safe at school. Our children deserve classrooms filled with learning, not fear. I will fight for stronger protections, better resources, and safer environments in every school—because keeping our kids safe is non‑negotiable.
Get Ahead Initiative
Prosperity
Everyone deserves the chance to breathe, build wealth, and live a life of comfort and security. Through my Get Ahead Initiative, I will fight for policies that give hardworking Americans true opportunity to build wealth—because life shouldn’t be just about making ends meet.
